I see the way my past has shaped me
A loud voice Snarky remark Makes me cower I wish to disappear into the shadows Cower where the sun never touches the Earth My grey feelings blend and morph into inky darkness To form a shroud around my soul Protecting myself against the rising shame That looms above me and rains down As heavy as a tumultuous tsunami Crushing the fortified shadow castle erected to house me
