Growth of a Tree

Growth of a Tree

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

This is about the determination of a small sickly tree growing against all odds. It's supposed to be something of an inspirational nature piece. One can always look to nature for some inspiration.

"
Upon a lonely hill a little twig stood
Made up of small leaves and very think wood
To anyone who looked he was deemed a sorry sight
H wasn't expected to make it through the cold dark night

On one lovely spring day
To everyone's dismay
A little green bud started to show
His roots and limbs started to grow

As the years passed by he would change with the seasons
It was apparent the tree was put on Earth for a reason
He is to show mankind that there's always a way
If you nurture hope then you'll grow every day

Oh, Leslie! 🔆

Now, we're talkin' sheer poetree!
I love the Quatrain form; especially, when it rhymes so perfectly and speaks so wondrously deep and true into the heart and soul.
How more valuable a moral could a tale be than of this of the determination and spirit of the hopeful little twig that survived to become a mighty oak! And, I find it interesting that your oak is a "him" tree. : )

Leslie, your arborist's heart sure shines brightly in this gloriously penned rendition of how we can persevere and grow to our fullest potential, if we but follow the oak's successful example … I dearly love it, Poetess.
Thank you ever-so gratefully for sharing your wonderfully creative ink! ⁓ Richard 🍃

Psst! My teacher's eye spotted a few wee issues: L2: "thin" wood. L4: "He". V2L2: Not "dismay" = alarm, shock, horror, etc; try "to everyones' awed way". L5: "Spring". L7: consider "began", as "started" is also in L8. : )
