The Light

The Light

A Poem by LeslieNoel

I used to think
that I was a creature of habit
walking the same roads
eating the same breakfast daily
But then it happened
The light in the lighthouse flickered to life
It burned in intensity
until it bore a hole
through the everyday facade
Holes punched their way through
mirages of safety
Certainty became a luxury
that often times becomes so few and far between
The only truth we all have
is that death comes for us eventually
So why not use the light
that the stalwart sea house offers us?
Rush towards the dreams you've always wanted
