Confines

Confines

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

This poem is about exploring the world and being true to yourself.

"
Lines mar the paper
and my pen quivers in mid air
constrained by blue ink
We are taught as children to color
within the lines
What if I want to scribble and explore,
ooze my way off the page
to cover the ground beneath the table
in messy rainbows?
Life and society are like ruled paper
Stay in the confines
because God only knows what consequences await
outside the boundaries
Outside my cage is a deliciously welcome vastness
that calls to me
It says be brave and partake in the possibilities
