The Dive Bomb BirdA Poem by LeslieNoelWe can learn many things and find great amusement by watching the wildlife around us.The dive-bomb bird furiously Flaps it's wings Keeping himself inline with his supper Just above the water's edge He hones in on his prey Silently readying his body For the swoop and dive He pulls back slightly X marks the spot! And plunges his white, and grey feathered body Into the roiling waves Comical is he with half of himself Hidden under the waves While the other bobs about the ocean, topside Quicker than the draw He flashes out of the grey currents Like a slingshot Carrying his much-earned prize Take-out fish dinner On the go! © 2019 LeslieNoel |
