Beach Rats

Beach Rats

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

I once saw a little family of wild rats living on the beach. This is the poem that followed.

"
Little Rat family
On the beach
Living as close as cheek to cheek
Underneath rocks that tend to jab
The best kind of home they could have
Protected from bird and beast
That seek to have a rat-filled feast
They have as much as they could wish
From humans sending crumbs adrift
Sea, salt, and seagulls cries
Evening breaking with the tides
This is the best life for a rat
Feeling protected, happy, and fat
