The Woolen Hat

Sometimes it's important to shed old beliefs that hinder your happiness.

Depression and sad despair
sits upon my mind
like a woolen hat on my head.
Instead of keeping me warm
it cuts off circulation
to fresh new thoughts
that offers a breath of air.
From time to time
I need to separate myself
from suffocating situations.
Take a moment to collect
that which is healthy
and leave behind the ideas
