The Long Road

The Long Road

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

Sometimes in life we have to travel down dark roads without much light.

"
I feel muddy and dirty
from this long road of dust
However rocky and winding
follow it I must

I've traveled it farther
than anyone would think
From anxiety and sadness
to the tipped brink of madness

Perhaps it wouldn't be so hard
if I had some patience
It would be nice to make it's
acquaintance
Alas it alludes my frantic mind
as it looks for something I'm trying to find

I'm looking for hope
and a brighter future
Something to pull me out of this stupor

I'll continue on
Put one foot in front of the other
for fear of being totally smothered
