Drinking in the Sun

Drinking in the Sun

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

I went on a hike with my husband the other day to Massasoit State Park in Massachusetts and this came to me. What a calming place to collect one's thoughts.

"
Speckled streams of the sun's rays
Beam their way through the tree tops
As I stand upon the grass covered knoll
The warmth kisses my cheeks
And lights up the Earth around me
Ferns, soil, dandelions, moss
All aglow
Soaks it up for it's life enduring sustenance
The smell of sweet tea assuages my senses
And I, too, feel I am drinking in the sun
