Mother Night

Mother Night

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

A poem written late at night

"
You visit me for half a day
Eyes as black as a crow`s heart
Arms as frozen as bark in winter
with a light shimmer of silver.

You are impure as a roof full of stars
As tough as a knee scarred with gravel.

My skin sticks and peels against metal
as my hand seeks the touch at your side.

I smally wandered the ways and steps
looking for you .

I am scared to be alone.
I am scared to meet you again.
It is all too late.

What does he do after she leaves him in the morning? Valentine

raw emotion and stunning lines that stop you on your tracks.. you are vulnerable and beautiful both standing under full illumination.. the best poems make my breathing slow and heart heavy.. this is it.

no matter what she says about him, it's still he whom she looks for. it seems she doesn't understand why she seeks him, except that she's scared to be alone, she's also scared for him to come back. perhaps she doesn't trust her heart to turn her back on him or to be with him ( ? )

This is beautiful because it is negative. This pares away the niceities and and hits the bone, I find it strangly compelling and refreshing.

This is certainly a trip to the dark side of the heart.
The push and pull of the energy made it quite a compelling read.
I have afterimages in my mind.
