Night Spinning

Night Spinning

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

for Daniel

"
the night is the black down
          of a yearling
the sky a taunt of trailed stars
let me spin in a frosty lane,
          head back,
          too fast to count
and throw the dark to ground

throw the dark to the ground - very powerful - the sky is soooooo huge and seems infinite

Now this is true, excellent, cosmic poetry.

I am never surprised, always in awe and forever awaiting the opportunity to enjoy the profundity of your delightful, eloquent, intelligent poetry Leslie. This is no exception other than it left me stunned by the impact of its pathos.
