Lemons for Klara

Lemons for Klara

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

for Klara Grünzweig 1957-2016

"
drops of river or ice patches;
all of this without your notice
            but tough and half eternal

the lemon tree grows
            cool and silent;
            this makes you remain.

Such small pieces of a story that say so much. Its like the final strokes in a watercolour that bring the whole piece together

I like how you mentioned how nature would subtly change; the effects of anyone's death shows his/her significance on this world.

Thanks for looking at this, my best wishes
she would have noticed...and loved it had she been around to see it---tough like she...

"lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet, but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat"
without her....

beautiful words, as always...you are a painter with your pen, Leslie.

A tribute to a lady I worked with, a music teacher,
originally from Romania..
I have no idea who Klara Grünzweig was, but this tribute seems to suggest she lives on in a warmer climate where fragrant memories reside. As always the brevity and careful word choice leave a stark mark, carved upon the bark of a reader's mind Leslie.
