Tree Child

Tree Child

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

written after seeing an accident near Rosenheim

"
rest among the gentians
           like an exhausted lover,
           the road has thrown

you out of track and youth
           a line of rescue wakes
           the rooks in the cold trees;

there is a nest not far away
           waiting to fall,a pause
           before the first call,a damp leaf

i like how the last stanza has anthropomorphic characteristics attached to inanimate objects

beautiful poetry ..so sad ..there are some images we will never forget ...to see something gruesome with eyes for beauty and peace takes a lot of living says i .. to wrap death (perhaps) in nature is so .... well...natural .. i think your poem transcends the tragedy in a marvelous way

Sounds like a youngster hit a tree and it was a bad accident that hit something inside of you. Written so well. Valentine

This has a deep sense of sandess to it, a coldness. someone passing does leave that sort of feeling behind.

Impressive write and imagery. A very strong emotional poem.
