Winter Onions

Winter Onions

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

for a change, something light hearted

"
my little round sleepers
with lots of coats on,mud
huggers with a tribal bottom

perfectly lined up at the
bus stop of spring, soft
under the cold loam, a miracle

no less despite the hidden
banality of numbers ,time for
tea as I wait in a cooling garden

"time for

I love this pleasant image :)

Beautiful imagery.
My favourite lines were -
"mud
huggers with a tribal bottom".
I don't generally like onions but I would bite one if it was described to me this way!

I cannot tell you how much I love buggers with tribal bottoms. In fact I found it difficult to get past that line. I'm glad I did though.

Love the imagery of this. Brings to mind a winter scene with produce still to be taken inside. Love it!

The garden, a humble reminder that life continues on and we have so much to be thankful for, beautifully done, as always :)

Waiting for the cool to pass so you can get out into that garden? We all like warmer weather I think. Valentine

Fabulous, just fabulous. I can just see the onions you describe and the bus stop line, I see people waiting in big off white woolly coats, reminding you of onions all in a row. I love this!
