Crystal Night

Crystal Night

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

a warning

"
the darkness pumps steps
down smoke streets, burning
light features the

cow-eyed, the clamped jaws
and forced laughter of
those with bent souls,

we are past words,thought
is trapped in brown amber,the
night creeps round each corner

Sounds like he is holding everything on the inside, letting it bend his soul. Dark write. Valentine

If only such warnings were taken heed of, the pace of life deafens some, sadly, poignant as always Leslie :)

This has dark ominous feel, perhaps for a very good reason, I'm thinking. Impressive work.

We are, in fact, well past words. Will anyone listen, see, or heed the warning. It isn't in human nature to pay attention.

Dark and sinister. Outstanding imagery. People need to pay attention, warnings are few and far between from those who truly see what is coming. A fantastic poem.
