a ring of stars

a ring of stars

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

as it is. for those who may like to read this

"
a ring of stars told me the future is
the sea that you try to grasp with your
broken hands and the past will not be
changed it is stained with rust and
flotsam as your inside ebbs like the
mossed ruin in the dunes as salted grass
fails to grow as the wind shakes the waves
you are alone and alone and alone

Sadly the past will always remain in the past. How can any one get a true grip on the future, it is impossible. Valentine This write makes one think.

There is no point in reaching for either the past or the future, for neither is attainable.

very eloquent pessimism, laden with gorgeous imagery...such written beauty should be able to comfort anyone stuck in the doldrums

It's like the ring of life in the heavens shining down on a world of beauty,, living things, things not so living and things broken. The waves of time are endless like the waves f the ocean.

A splendid poem.

A very powerful poem, has a strong emotional impact. The future is really out of reach, just as the past is. The future is unknown but full of hope, we don't know what it will bring, good or bad. The past we know, all the smiles and tears, but we can't change it. Sadly, even in the midst of many people, we really are alone...alone....alone...

the past is what it is..we can't change that...the future is what we hold in our hands, what we can shape...

and that is a way we may clean out our insides...shake off the rust.

and yes, as you say...we are alone alone and alone, in the past, present and future...

we are what we are---

your poems are always varied in tempo, style and content....

always a joy to read something new by you.
