rain

rain

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

the lower case, that flows like water

"
rain drinks my sight and makes my face the sea, i
am falling apart like a wet newspaper, this is not
friendly water landing in a tin bucket on an autumn
evening when the lights outside flow too, this is
beyond cleaning and baptism, this might be the end
of the world, and so it should be.

Heavy downpours with thunder and lightening can make the world a cleaner place but only on the outside. Valentine

This s a very strong poem, and an ominous and menacing one. The reader gets a sense of something deeply disbursing is going on and he rain and waters can't do much bout it. One wishes for the relief of tears and the cleansing of rain and water, but it's not to be. So bad is this that it feels like the end of the world is at home.

Very well done poem.

Tears, and rain storms -- the end of the world can perhaps be a relief. Your words are always beautiful.

A clear poetic description of your very own perception of the weather. I like the images you created, the comparisons, your choice of words excellently adds to the overall tone of your poem. Rain as an epic force
of nature, beating oneself and leave one surrender in a cleansing, liberating act.

Rain cleanses all, when we cry it is like cleansing rain. But sometimes the wounds are too deep, the damage too profound and instead of cleansing the rain washes it all away.

Very well written, very descriptive poem. I like this a lot.

I like this extended metaphor - it makes your sadness seem more profound.

Nice to read;actually more like a pictorial description of torrential rain that we are so much familiar in the tropical countries and relate easily to personal experiences.
