A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

I remember that day

"
An afternoon of dark flowers,
Werner told me,
there were bad men in flight.
Then we sat in a broken circle,
as if the air was forbidden
                         with  stopped time,
                         the room choked with dust.

Simple, powerful thoughts. It is one of those moments, all of humanity old enough at the time, remembers. Beautifully expressed.

This poem is very emotional. The day the world went dark. I remember.

If you ask anybody, they know exactly what they were doing, at that awful moment.
This makes me feel sad. The day the world really became ugly and governments turned on their own citizens in a strong and bold way after that. We haven't had a chance to heal. Maybe we won't. Maybe the world won't either. Yes, I remember that day.

Everybody rembers, like me, the way they reacted when they heard the news...
yes, "the room choked with dust" and i was watching wgn news report and actually saw the second plane go into the other tower...i felt the dust, i cringed at the heights from which people were jumping from the towers...what an awful day....will never forget it...very dark flowers.
this poem is so effective...

A poem, superbly worded on one of the darkest days in history. Thank you for sharing. It made for a truly worthy read.
