Level Crossing

Level Crossing

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

as it is

"
As all the pictures
              speed past;
              a monochrome classic
like a flash porno of stale
              groups at stage,
              a round of prospective lookers
as I keyhole in my car, outside
              this story-telling,
              all these holes in cloth.
I am aside all this business,
              all this light snap,
              the train now lost
              in the purpose of direction.

I really like the imagery. The lines sound almost sort of sober, but nevertheless strong, expressive.

A very powerful poem. Time passes quickly, life does too in a way. We all want to find out why, the big question, why am i alive? Reality flashes by. Maybe we learn, maybe we don't. There isn't always enough time. Fantastic poem.

Time is going by, pictures give us memories of how life once was and change isn't always for the good. Not by a long shot. Pictures and tell us how we ought to change the direction of the train, and why. A fabulous poem Leslie.

for me this speaks of the past...the pictures, the memories, the faith i once had in life, in society...but now we all seem to be on a train that has definitely lost its direction...

i hope we can get it back, or at least get a ticket on the train going the other way.

always such thoughtful poetry from you...always.
