Irrlicht

Irrlicht

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

just a thought

"
Down among the wet woods,
all life trapped in shade.
Souls of children in limbo
dance over black water.

This sounds chilling. A place haunted by evil dark ghosts, perhaps of the dead children who cannot ever escape from where they are.

This is dark and rather spooky. It brings to mind children's souls dancing over the black water. Children who died there. I do like this one a lot.

This could be the frontispiece of an M.R. James story. And I mean that as complimentary. Dark and sombre but rich in tone.

Some of your writing is so somber, but it always seems to make the reader think. Partially to try to figure out just what you are saying. Valentine

"oh black water keep on rolling..."

trapped in shade, not a place to be...but I don't think they stay there long...heaven and the sunshine await.

and yet children are so innocent and naïve...so they still dance...even in limbo.
