Garden Ship

Garden Ship

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

somehow at sea

"
The Winter is enamel;
buckets of cold,
sodden pots of forgotten growth.

Snow ship,
Trees taut with
tackle of frost.

Earth hard as
the white sea,
adrift and lost,

between seasons
made of ice and sorts
of rain, not falling,

not sailing.
Dull and still
as December

A ship so covered in snow and ice it is as if it can't move at all....perhaps the ocean is too still, waiting for a storm. A brilliant poem.

wow, i can just picture this ship stuck in the ice, frozen tundra of winter, no flow---no warmth...
spring seemingly worlds away...
no sailing, just hibernation.

even the rain is frozen in place.

a very cold poem...reminds me of shakespeare's "winter"---

Yes, very cold indeed, Love the imagery of this poem. Very creative and impressive.

You did good, easy read, reflection of the cold. You miss your sailing, this one line of three words tells a story, no more fun, just this cold white stuff.

Snow ship

On your mind, so no poems from you in the summer/

For me, this is a perfect capture of both the season and the emptiness inside we sometimes feel.

Both states pass; and this is such a clever, clever poem.

Beautiful. The ice of winter captured in a few short lines. You are, in my opinion, one of the most under read and under rated writers on this site. Your words are accurate, piercing, insightful, and beautiful. IF you are watching the FEED, stop by this page. It is worth the effort to read more than the attention seekers here.

Read Requests are like begging letters, niet waar?
Clever write. I could see the plants all white with frost and the sailing ship, packed in ice in the harbor.
Made me shiver, Kathie
