Argument

Argument

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

having words

"
a trail of scurry
as if martins
had flown through your heart

voices
pushallthewordstogether
you swing

lampshades
and make it all
film noir

shouts from a mouth
of cloth

so when you are as
empty as a grail
but lose all space

you understand
there is no sense
without passion.

A very descriptive poem, the words present the argument in a very creative fashion.

Very creative and impressive write/ Love your unique style and imagery used in this. Arguments are very unpleasant emotional situations to find ones self in but they are a part of life.

Indeed, the last lines say it all. I prefer not to quote so others can discover for themselves. Take the time to read this man's work. It is beautiful, insightful, lacking in pretenses while oozing with style.

Arguments can be colorful and passionate for the outsider and for the insiders real estate. A very powerful takeon this subject, sir...:).....

Very truthful words here- everyone involved in an argument believes that they are correct and fights to defend their positions, hence the involvement of passion.

I like to think that my "arguments" were really discussions. Perhaps he thought other wise...why I don't know as he usually won! Kathie

True, it`s hard to say, isn`t it ? Best wishes !
it seems arguments have no sense of value, but then, they can be a good purging---and couples sometimes need to have them to sustain a good relationship, rather than letting all of that angst just build up and explode.
there is sense, when the passion runs high....

I love the line "shouts from a mouth of cloth"
I keep going back to that one.

nicely done, my friend.

Hi Leslie.

Argument, "having words," and the magnificent last stanza come together and defines true passion. Also, I LOVE "pushallthewordstogether."

Wonderful!

Pleased you liked this, thanks for the review.
I do not normally visit your page Leslie I hope you don't mind as I came across the writing and the narrative was so intriguing I felt that I needed to contribute me "grain of salt" by asking.

First the "folk soul " question so to speak -- the association of passion and German is already intriguing. But then the certitude based on the relationship in between passion and sense.

The Spanish would be reveling if you were to advocate for them as the image of the Torero is nothing but imbued with passion and yet the outcome is that a healthy animal as a form of entertainment gets pompously killed.

Is passion in that sense or in any walk of life nothing but a veil? Once removed who knows what's on the other side.

As I said it intrigued me.

Thank you.
