Witch On The Horizon

Witch On The Horizon

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

a picture

"
Cut out of black paper
Japanese
Thrown before a sky

Of night milk;
Janitress of a
Lower house,

One toothed;
Point hatted;
Flying past a

Victorian curtain;
Two thirds storm,
One third dark.

I like this poem, very descriptive. I think you achieved what you wanted.

Very visual, very well crafted poem. I think its impressive work.

Wow! This is unique. This piece seems like a juxtaposition between Western (witch folklore) and Eastern (poem format) cultures.

I really like your mental description of this Japanese picture. I take it you own one or you have seen it elsewhere. Or I take it as the mushroom cloud from the nuclear attacks on Japan...Excellent...:)....................

This provoked images of an origami figure or paper lanterns. As always you produce an image or story from few words which is a fine skill. The line cut out of black paper immediately set the scene and drew me in Leslie.

Thanks for the review; this poem lacks progression, but I tried at least to get it well observed!
