Shadow Girl

Shadow Girl

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

written on a sad Sunday

"
Uncoloured like ether; armed with snakes,
Steps as lithe as a greyhound; a body
                    put together like a puzzle
With rings and dark eyes and small voices,
Words stumped and acerbic, I bet
you fall into chairs and lovers.
When you sit opposite me on the bus
You chase away my starved eyes; old hope
for a love dusty over a fireplace.

This has an elegant, yet dark aura about it. Very eery and drawing. You words really reel the reader in. Well penned.

Sometimes life is like this. We see someone, a stranger perhaps, and it changes our perspective on things ...

Very unique imagery for what reads as a poem about unhappiness and regrets.

I sense a sadness here. Time takes its toll on all of us and when we miss our youth and all that went with it. An amazing poem.

I take it this is no compliment, Otherwise I don't get it.

Would like to know more about that sad Sunday. I almost wonder if it's a clue to a different kinda direction to read this other then face value.

This is exquisite. With just a few brief words, you have perfectly captured both the image of that girl sitting opposite and the thoughts that spill from your mind as you observe her.

This is my kind of poetry all the way.

Beccy.
