The Escape

The Escape

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

sometimes it`s not worth it

"
There is a door in the sky
For those who wish to escape
From the nurse`s worried glance
To red lights that turn in the street,
From the soft tread of a priest`s shoe
To a latinate fast finger of magic,
From the over-the-top of Flanders
To the heavens that play dice;
This is more life than you need;
For those who wish to escape
There is a door in the sky.

Sometimes It's not worth it yes, but often times we don't realize it, maybe not until too late. Nicely done, nice imagery. You're an excellent poet.

Great poem- your door in the sky implicitly shows how imagination can help us escape from the worst things in our lives.

"For those who wish to escape
There is a door in the sky."

I feel the sense of hope, the other option we have, the awaited fate for many away from this world of wars, pains and injustices. An excellent write...:)...................

Very well done. You do have a unique way with words.
Impressive poem full of darkness and sadness.
Sometimes life can become overwhelming and escaping is all we/us can think of.

You're welcome.
This one took me by surprise Leslie. As always your technical ability as a poet is incredible, your ability to describe in pictures painted from words is immense. The theme of this was sad though as it suggests suicide and a feeling of being so fed up with life and all its ails as to want to find the way out. Hope this is poetic licence dear friend?

Excellent!"
Wow. Your writing never ceases to amaze. This is brilliant, and hence, when I get a chance, I will binge on your writes. For now, though, I must go, BUT I WILL TELL EVERYONE WHO IS WATCHING THE FEED READ THIS POET - he has a quiet grace and dignity, and often goes unrecognized, but he is an exceptional poet, in my opinion (there is your plug for the day -- unsolicited, for you are much too gracious to ask.)
