Flora

Flora

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

about flowers and love

"
Ox-eyed daises,red clover, harebell, irish lady`s tresses,
Corncake; underwash for roots
                                       small grains of seed
                                       a carpet of marsh orchids
                                       falls quietly under your lace.

Your eyes alive as a Spring tide.
Skin as fresh as young grass.
Laughter as wicked as dancing thistle;
                                       the sky shakes
                                       we are bedded in moss
                                       soft as the deep
                                       in which we pleasure.

"Laughter as wicked as dancing thistle" great word usage and wonderful imagery.

great last two lines...there are many love poems written...and there seems a pattern to them...

you break that pattern in such an individual way...and your voice when speaking of passion
is "soft as the deep"

my fave line is 'skin as fresh as young grass' .. the whole poem is delightfully joyful .. I love the focus on Nature's beauty and how you bed us within it
