Cats

Cats

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

just a poem

"

It is night
but there are lights
to show that veins are open.
Houses are trapped in amber
and the darkness is full of cats
that are nothing apart from

eyes beside laurel
and hot breath on my neck.

You stop before you enter
and look from side to side.
You risk leaving the rained street.

This is really creative and caught my eye because I love cats, haha. Wonderful!

there is something that pricks the skin and raises goosebumps at the back of one's neck in this poem

Ahh, yes, we are a crafty, slinky, sexy lot, and the subject of many poems, though not ones that include blind obedience ...

I like this very creative poem about cats. They are very sneaky creatures indeed but pretty too.
And good pets sometimes.

This is stealth like a cat, creeps up on you and you takes your breath away before you even realize. A spectral shadow cast on this rainy street. I quite like this one Leslie.

I hear TS Eliot whispering in the background of this, Leslie. here, we have dogs on the ground and cats on the rooftops. Both howl at the moon. Reading your poem, I felt I was walking through our streets at night- something I rarely feel safe doing.

Oh, I Like this! Very spooky and eerie. I love cats but they can be scary when all they are doing is just sitting there, unmoving, watching every move you make.
