Hoar Frost

Hoar Frost

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

I`m quite pleased with this one...

"
Hair of the spider,
the old man`s curse;
spicules of ice

That turn my windows
into a French pattern;
older than rime

Feather frost;
white as a virgin`s hair,
hard as Winter`s face.

the last three lines especially...i am becoming that white in the hair...and hard as a Winter's face...

life takes away that innocence and wonder....and we get much colder as we get older.it's our curse....

and this just hangs on the page, like a beautiful icicle...melting and melding with and into the reader.

I am intrigued by the 'hair of the spider' image; we have spiders here but they never get close enough for me to see that kind of detail. If we ever have snow, I hope it looks and feels like this - you've captured the feel of winter exceptionally well.

Killer imagery here Leslie, I'm looking out that frosted pane at this very moment, and you brought that winter face to life with your words.

Muchly enjoyed, now you can you write me a spring face, sick to death of winter ;-)
Again, an unreviewed poem. It seems people all around the world are experiencing harsher than usual, and not so fun, winters this year.
