Synecdoche

Synecdoche

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

I wanted to be both clever and funny here ( and probably fail...)

"
Fat books and dead poets
Scattering in envy over my floor

Each backless like a flipped crab
Full as a blocked toilet and

Only half as wise; so bang out
The rhymes; may have to slip down

The cold stairs and scribble
Out the dog`s dinner; missed again.

Ha, clever indeed, I got a kick out of 'full as a blocked toilet and only half as wise'...nice way of saying you're bloody full of it....I might have to steal that one from you Leslie.

Very clever use of the alternative metaphor in a very humour filled piece Leslie
