A Window In The Sky

A Window In The Sky

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

as it says

"
Birds that change shape
crash against glass
so that sleet is not sleet

but splitters of glass,
a windscreen burst ;
Street Treasure !

The Sun is not a he
but weak as a
single tree,

a cripple crabbing
over a frozen lake,
cold as a dead starling.

A bleak yet amazing view of the sky. We can almost see anything that we want, limited only by our imagination. A very impressive poem indeed!

Pieces of a winter jigsaw happening around us. Its up to us to make the sense of it. An extrordinary evocative piece.

Hmm, things are not always as they seem, not sure if this is tragic or enlightening....intriguing imagery here Leslie. You've certainly piqued my interest with this one, can't claim to know exactly what it's about but I like it, perhaps another cuppa this early morn will help.

Hallo Emma,
thanks for the review, and best wishes from here !
This appears rather profoundly expressed Leslie with your usual unique eloquence and majesty. Its meaning is for me in the images it presents in my mind of dark winters days and just a hint of a gap in the clouds. Was 'windscreen' meant to have three 'es'?
