Steffie Looks Down The Corridor

Steffie Looks Down The Corridor

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

about a girl at work..

"
with ice hair,
standing still, your head turned,
you are viewed down, reduced,
to make you faceless,
curved as a dolphin,
Cressida under neon ;
watching you watching.
A broken wheel between
two spaces, hanging on
strings. Your eyes
off the moment,
quiet as Vermeer;
posed at an empty door;
nothing moves.

This is the best poem I have read on writerscafe to date out of hundreds. It has everything...structure, rhythm, stunning original imagery and metaphors. I love the theme. Beautifully observed. Into my library/favourites. 100/100
