Autobahn

Autobahn

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

just a story

"
On the Autobahn
between Mühldorf and
Ampfing there is,
at night
not much traffic;
a pattern.

The lights of the trucks
are open stages,
or a circus
shifting
from village to village.

There must be
somebody
who has gathered
all this darkness
and searched for light.

This reminds
me of my
childhood,
times
when I was
alone.

Author's Note

Leslie Philibert
I read a lot of poetry, and I notice that a lot of modern poetry reads like prose. So
I tried to get this feeling here, a poem that transports emotion through content rather
than language...

This flows like prose, pristinely so...and wow....such intensity! x

Much emotion on this fast road, an interesting concept !

This makes me feel cold and alone, lost in the darkness life can bring. Very compelling, very visual too. I like this a lot!

A great poem. I love this. Well written with wonderful descriptions that bring this poem to life.
