Canvey Island 1964

Canvey Island 1964

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

a simple poem about something I remember

"
the Thames estuary;
a flock of caravans
and a low sun
that narrows my eyes,

seawind full of salt,
pulling my kite
over the tide;
all in balance.

I like this. A positive and happy memory. Your words made this very easy for the reader to join in, with their memories of having funas a child beside a large body of water.

A simple moment, yet so elegantly expressed... You transmitted this moment and mood vividly to this reader... I just love that second stanza, and the ending... Over the tide/ all in balance...
