Cinquain

Cinquain

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

a type of poem now forgotten....

"
Wild mint
That grows at ease
At the edge of a field
Do not hide yourself in false shame
Be proud !

Author's Note

Leslie Philibert
invented by the American poet Adelaide Crapsey ( 1878 - 1914 ).I don`t normally write like this, but I loved the name cinquain. Follows a 2/4/6 /8/2 syllable format.(And yes, she was really called Adelaide Crapsey...)

I love things that are wild. Why mint would hide in shame is something to ponder. Nice poem.

this is good advice for someone who prefers to remain in periphery. i guess following a form inspires one to create similar art.

Lovely Cinquain indeed...I enjoyed Quins response about picking it for Easter dinner...I lived in the
city...no wild mint around my house.:)

Nice poem. I like the format, the descriptions are peaceful, the overall feel of the poem is a positive one. I think I'll give this style of poem a try.

I like this poem a lot. A little poem you can keep to yourself. The kind of wisdom you put in your pocket and goes everywhere with you.
