The Tin Box

The Tin Box

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

for Sylvia Plath

"
Every ten years your head
lands in the tin box.
It is not the vision.

Ach du lieber Himmel !
What a show !
the words fall off the page

and if and if
the moon had not been closed
you might have landed

beside the crows and the otters
crawling over the wet moor
of the missing one ; but

it is as it is, the fat book halved
the shouting that your hear
as the banged door stops the rest.

I think that this is one of the most original poems I've read in a while, everything seems to be a riddle connected to another riddle. Great job, loved it!

A very powerful poem full of life time of emotions. You've done a wonderful job crating this poem, with imagery and words used.

You validate your reflections with your respect paid to literature. If only life would hold back tongue edges of our solitude long enough... Or maybe not. Maybe the interruption allows these works application to their truest intent. Get up and see who is at the door. They await your embrace. The other half will read as well upon the morrow.
Loved the write!

I enjoy reading Sylvia Plath and Ann Sexton, and others too. I believe it helps me to learn how to write better. I enjoyed your poem for her. The images you use are very clever and creative in nature, showing skill in creating this. I think she would probably like this a lot. I do!

Now this is going to take me some time. All I can say for now is that it is very multilayered. I will be back.
