Elegy

Elegy

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

I didn`t...

"
I didn`t choose the words ;
the words chose me.

Once you accept that the world has no meaning
you find peace.
No green farrows of the sea.
No coded stars in the night.
Do not lose yourself to seek God.
He does not need your despair.
He does not need you at all.

So when you emerge from your house
on a icy morning and the
night creeps into day
let it be, it is it.

Loved this so much Leslie. Such a well set out poem that flows with a sage message in such few words. Eloquent. If I have any misgivings it would be to alter the last line ;
let it be, it is what it is.

Very sad indeed. The words of someone who has given up.

life just is!

no more, no less...

sometimes we do try too hard to find meanings that aren't there.

the meaning is this, if you get up the next day...it is another day, so make the most of it...

we expect too much from God and others...hoping for them to make our life have meaning and substance..it is really just up to us.

what a wonderful way to begin my day!

I like this poem a lot, you can drive yourself mad looking for meaning where there is none. And no I don't think god wants our despair. Perfectly written.

It is it. But it is a beautiful concise write. Everything fits and everything links. I like this one a lot.

Beautifully said. If we could just take the moment as it is, the beauty in the world at face value, not imply deeper meanings to it, life would be som much simpler. A refreshingly different thought. Thanks.
