Winter - Four Pictures

Winter - Four Pictures

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

things that I see

"
A crow motionless in a field of snow ;
burnt paper in the wet morning ash.
The dead locked into the frozen earth ;
leaves blacken under a hidden moon.
The trees abstract with frost ;
weighed and bending with ice.
A sun weak and blinded from rain ;
glass under the hand of sleet.

The attention you pay to images is outstanding ! Every word is so well chosen ! Motionless - dead - abstract - weak, all adjectives belonging to the same "atmosphere". The strong use of nature is appealing (I've seen the same in the last poem of yours I've reviewed) ! From a western "point of view", you belong pretty much to the romantic literature ;)

You write beautiful imagery. Each of your poems are very readable and very worth the read.

An absolute pleasure to read.

Very stark and dramatic. All very vivid images of winter.

I like this. Powerful pictures of winter, some beautiful and some sinister. This is pure enjoyment for the eye and for the emotions!

This one was pretty good, I think. It is not political, nor demanding and even tends to convey a sense of vision where such may not always exist. It staggers over the distance yet somehow manages to make it to the fire. Have an ale and a small sense of self-satisfaction.
