My Heart Is As Big As A London Bus

My Heart Is As Big As A London Bus

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

a poem for children...

"

My heart is as big as a London Bus
Some buy a ticket ; some travel free
For all there are seats just next to me
My heart is as big as a London Bus

Some buy a ticket ; some travel free
You can ride alone, or as two or more
Carry your shopping home from the store
Some buy a ticket ; some travel free

For all there are seats just next to me
Ring the bell - and let`s all get going
There is no chance of my red bus slowing
`Cause my heart is big as a bus, you see !

I really like this, it could easily be put to music and sung well. Very nice!

I found your poem fun and very charming. The images are fun and I think children will find them very engaging. I really enjoyed this poem a lot. It made me smile as I read it!

Very delightful! I like it. I have no doubt children will too!

This is a smile as large as the heart that pumped the man who wrote the words to bring a smile to big and small alike .. (you can inhale now! - love its cleverness, the way you've used words in stanzas one and two, and the obvious meaning in the third ..

i think this is a lovely piece. I like how you used the second and third line of the first stanza to start the other stanzas...

quite nice...and yes, a good children's poem, but also...

this is a good poem for the child in all of us adults.

never too old to open our hearts.

I can almost, almost think of the tune to this. Think Ray Davies of the Kinks would have written it.
Streuth and Stone me Guvner but that one to send the kiddiwinkies up the apples and pears.
