To wake? Too much!

To wake? Too much!

A Poem by FemmedPlume

Late.

My body trembles, and
I ache; and then
I wake. I wake
Before the Sun must raise His head
Before the Moon has sought Her bed
I must wake
And stumble out
Put on a face to see
And go where I must be
But I am slacked with weariness
My powers fail, and dreariness
And loneliness cannot be fought
Only shouldered, but
How my shoulders ache!
When each day I wake,
I wake.
