at the bottom of the sea
A Poem by Leonard Birch
a poem about being a rock
sometimes i wish that i were a rock at the bottom of the sea, with all the weight of the world pressing down upon me. i think that it would be a simple thing. no notion of want or need for exuberance. no feeling of hurt or aggression toward malice. no fear of failure or hope for tomorrow. just infinite depth, isolation, and current. yes, sometimes i wish that i were a rock at the bottom of the sea, with all the weight of the world pressing down upon me. but who cares? i mean really.
