Want and NeedA Poem by Leonard Birch
Open your eyes.
What do you spy? Learn what to take. Make more mistakes. Know when to break. Just another day. Maybe now he'll stay. Feel the warmth. It won't scorch, the scars they left for all to see. Knee deep misery, the sea of want and need. Fleeting as you run, to catch a glimpse at the sun before it is gone. What is left to say? The bridge has burned for good. Now you turn away, to start another day. Just another day. © 2011 Leonard Birch |
