Of Color, Disease, and GreedA Poem by Leonard Birch
Where has it gone?
All that's left, is wrong. It's like a wave, that will not break. It's swallowing everything whole. Leaving nothing, but pain and disgrace in its wake. And I know that I won't be the same. Nothing can erase, the memories of the day, when I finally found out what was shame. And I know if we can find another way, we will live to breathe in another day. This pantomimed symphony of color, disease, and greed. Will only end in misery, with nothing left to believe in. Where has it gone? Your stamp is on my tongue. yeah. It's left me feeling blind and numb, Deaf, dumb, and out of luck. Swimming in a sea of green, no comprehension of what my eyes and mind can see. And I know that I won't be the same. Nothing can erase, the memories of the day, when I finally found out what was shame. And I know if we can find another way, we will live to breathe in another day. This pantomimed symphony of color, disease, and greed. Will only end in misery, with nothing left to believe in. © 2011 Leonard Birch |
