suicide

suicide

A Poem by Leonard Birch

When I looked into the Abyss,
It parted my lips,
And stuck its tongue down my throat.

It enveloped my heart,
Then it tore it apart,
And threw it back into the fire.

Now that it's done,
Don't be sad that I'm gone,
At least I got to pick how it would end.
