Ask

Ask

A Poem by Leonard Birch
"

A short poem about second guessing and anxiety.

"

I've asked myself,

What is the limit?

I've asked myself,

Why do I take it?

I know there must,

Be a line that's been crossed.

But I turn my cheek,

And tie up my laces.

To start again,

This endless cycle.

I know, I know,

That I will break down.

It just depends,

On what I'm drinking.

When will I know,

My human limitations?

When will I sink,

To the bottom of this?

Will I ever grow,

Old from custom?

My hands are tied,

But I'm not shaken.
