Only See...

Only See...

A Poem by Everything-and-Nothing
"

The scars we contain.

"
Only the poet can see the changed line
Only the artist can see the flawed line made "perfect"
Only the gardener may see the weed in the yard
Only the preacher may understand the words

A person will only ever understand their own life- see the scars, not able to cover them, from their own eyes.

They can hide under sheets,
darkness,
make-up,
masks,
or inside paper words...

But the scars will never fade or dull even as skin wrinkles, as it tans, or as it grows light.

As a person changes their hair and wardrobe.
They awake, get up, walk, rest, fall asleep.

And their gaze never wavers, does not falter nor blink
They always see their scars feeling unaffected yet daunted, by what they know, what they see

Knowing what the scars contain.
