40th Birthday Toast

40th Birthday Toast

A Poem by Leon Gipson
"

To my friend, Ludmila on her Birthday (Paul Leon Gipson, 2005)

"

To my friend, Ludmila on her Birthday

(Paul Leon Gipson, 2005)

Ludmila, Ludmila it is your Birthday!

Let us make time

To celebrate, to revel

For, today is your day.

An extraordinary date for you to be

The person that you are

With a caring gentle soul

That someone special I will always see.

And, here I sit miles and miles away

Thinking of you then and now

Those Reflections do sparkle

On this, your special day (and, everyday).

So, a toast I will make

To you and yours, forever to be

Touched by happiness, prosperity, and love

May it be yours always to partake.

And, for now I will leave you with this

Though afar, you are near

In my mind and in my heart

It is for you that I wish this birthday bliss.

Began writing "poetry" many years ago. Simple stuff that had to rhyme, now it tends to be more "modernistic", but dark at times and sometimes rhymes - depends upon the mood. Those that I will be post.. more..
