A day in the forest (2001)

A day in the forest (2001)

A Poem by Leon Gipson
"

Dreaming

"

Sun shining, oh so bright
A gentle breeze fondles  (me oh so lightly)
As I lay dreaming,
It seems oh so right.

Dreams of this
And dreams of that
Taking me far away
Across the great abyss.

Like a bird on wing
High over ground
A mind’s eye to wander
A song to sing.

Sing I may
Sing I might
Of the dreams that
Take me far away.

As I lay dreaming
A gentle breeze fondles
Far away I have been
Knowing not the meaning.

A fine mist falls
Slumber I no longer
My mind numb from wonder
For I know not who calls.

A flight of fancy, I muse
Yet, it seemed oh so right
In the sunshine oh so bright
I am left but only to bemuse.

Dreams of this
And dreams of that
Take me far away
Across the great abyss.

About
Began writing "poetry" many years ago. Simple stuff that had to rhyme, now it tends to be more "modernistic", but dark at times and sometimes rhymes - depends upon the mood. Those that I will be post.. more..
