Whispers (2001)

A Poem by Leon Gipson

The wind whispers and I listen
As my essence begins to quiver
Sweet rhapsodies I declare
Found not elsewhere
Only in nature they do christen.

The wind whispers and I follow
Where I go, I know not
Why I go, I only listen
Daring not to question why
Fearing the rhapsodies hollow.

Ever so clear was the path
Marked with knowledge past
Only now caverns deep
To which those rhapsodies seep
Gone are the fires of wrath.

Great the unknown sought
Seeking solace in places so rare
Trudging forward in elements foul
Thoughts like labyrinths twisted
What have these rhapsodies wrought?

Turning here, turning there
The wind whispers and I listen
A sweet rhapsody to follow
No matter where
Only my soul to bare.

Be it may, be it might
Tossed and turned by a fall
Trying to comprehend it all
And, if the rhapsodies for naught
Find myself rather contrite.

About
Began writing "poetry" many years ago. Simple stuff that had to rhyme, now it tends to be more "modernistic", but dark at times and sometimes rhymes - depends upon the mood. Those that I will be post.. more..
