upon entering the exit door (2005)

upon entering the exit door (2005)

A Poem by Leon Gipson
"

a tussle with original sin

"

without, within

caste the first stone

the original sin

where have i been

looking in, looking out

without a doubt

seeing pure

feeling not

hell i will embrace

for you i smile

warmed by yours

endure i must

revealed at last

awkward i am

within i look

at peace

maybe not

melancholy at best

the abyss of my soul

endless torments await

to take their toll

life on end

seeking the unknown

paths not taken

wandering aimlessly

ramblings of my mind

ponder faith

so selfish am i

considerate not

damned i am

looking within

not without

only me i think

consumed i am

by you

doomed by passion

time waits not

forward it flees

wait i cry

running for a life

not mine i know

a moment i need

a door i entered

racing against time

exit i can not

a train leaves

stranded i feel

bewildered at the gate

within the station

a great clock ticks

my time, my life

yours

About
Began writing "poetry" many years ago. Simple stuff that had to rhyme, now it tends to be more "modernistic", but dark at times and sometimes rhymes - depends upon the mood. Those that I will be post.. more..
