musing with my MuseA Poem by Leon Gipsontongue in cheek inspirationMy Muse, my Inspiration
One bright day
In the middle of the night I sat down To write, I thought Such was the plight A mind in decay. I thought
What to write Rhyme or reason? Which was right? Maybe a word or two Could be caught. Caught I was
In thought Drifting and dreaming Looking and longing For the words That rhyme with ‘was’. Was I or was I not?
Lost in the reason of rhyme Hidden messages, Open dialogue I call out Words do not come They only rot. Seethingly torpid
They wait Holding on, Beckoning, teasing Struggling they come Totally insipid. Now I ask
On my knees As if to pray. My Muse, my Inspiration Let my rhymes flow to you Will you embrace this simple task? © 2008 Leon GipsonAuthor's Note
