musing with my Muse

musing with my Muse

A Poem by Leon Gipson
"

tongue in cheek inspiration

"

My Muse, my Inspiration
Where for art thou?
Find me my words
Tell me how
How to remove
This continued frustration.

One bright day
In the middle of the night
I sat down
To write, I thought
Such was the plight
A mind in decay.

I thought
What to write
Rhyme or reason?
Which was right?
Maybe a word or two
Could be caught.

Caught I was
In thought
Drifting and dreaming
Looking and longing
For the words
That rhyme with ‘was’.

Was I or was I not?
Lost in the reason of rhyme
Hidden messages,
Open dialogue
I call out
Words do not come
They only rot.

Seethingly torpid
They wait
Holding on,
Beckoning, teasing
Struggling they come
Totally insipid.

Now I ask
On my knees
As if to pray.
My Muse, my Inspiration
Let my rhymes flow to you
Will you embrace this simple task?

About
Began writing "poetry" many years ago. Simple stuff that had to rhyme, now it tends to be more "modernistic", but dark at times and sometimes rhymes - depends upon the mood. Those that I will be post.. more..
